Accessibility Statement

IdeaDunes is committed to ensuring our platform is accessible to everyone, regardless of ability or technology.

Our Commitment

IdeaDunes strives to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. We believe that digital tools should be usable by all people, including those using assistive technologies such as screen readers, voice recognition, magnification software, and alternative input devices.

Accessibility Features

Keyboard Navigation

All interactive elements are reachable and operable via keyboard. Focus indicators are visible. Skip-to-content links are available on all pages.

Screen Reader Support

Semantic HTML, ARIA landmarks, roles, and labels are used throughout. Content order matches visual order for consistent screen reader experience.

Color & Contrast

Text meets WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text). Information is never conveyed by color alone.

Text Scaling

Pages are responsive and support text resizing up to 200% without loss of functionality. Layouts adapt to zoom levels and viewport changes.

Reduced Motion

Animations and transitions respect the prefers-reduced-motion operating system preference. Users can browse without animation.

Language Support

Page language is declared via the lang attribute. Multi-language support with locale-aware date, number, and currency formatting.

Standards & Compliance

WCAG 2.1 Level AA

Our target conformance level is WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We audit our public pages and core dashboard modules regularly against these guidelines. While some advanced interactive features may have partial conformance, we actively work to address gaps.

Section 508 (US)

IdeaDunes is designed to meet Section 508 requirements for US federal agencies and organizations. Our VPAT (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template) is available upon request.

EN 301 549 (EU)

For European customers, we align with the EN 301 549 accessibility standard as part of the European Accessibility Act requirements.

ADA Compliance (US)

Our web application is designed to be accessible in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. We follow WCAG 2.1 AA as the technical standard for ADA compliance.

Testing & Review

We use a combination of automated and manual testing approaches:

  • Automated scanning with axe-core and Lighthouse accessibility audits
  • Manual keyboard navigation testing across all pages
  • Screen reader testing with NVDA, VoiceOver, and JAWS
  • Color contrast verification for all UI elements
  • Periodic third-party accessibility audits

Known Limitations

While we work to ensure full accessibility, the following areas may have limited support:

  • Some third-party embedded content (e.g., external widgets) may not fully meet WCAG standards
  • Complex data visualization charts offer text alternatives but may not be fully navigable via screen reader
  • Legacy PDF documents uploaded to the file manager may not be tagged for accessibility

We are actively working to address these limitations and welcome feedback on areas for improvement.

Accessibility Feedback

If you encounter an accessibility barrier or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us. We take all accessibility feedback seriously and aim to respond within 5 business days.
